The 5 Axis Machining Centre Wood Lathe, also known as Tormat SMART, is equipped with four powerful operational units: the Shaper Unit, Turning Unit, Detailed Milling Unit, and Sanding Unit. The Shaper Unit features a 7.5kW AC cutter motor and a large 120mm diameter (4 11/16″) and 180mm height (7 1/16″) cutter, making it ideal for flat surface work and rough shaping.
The Detailed Milling Unit stands out with its 5-axis capabilities, a rotatable milling head (+/- 90 degrees), and an automatic tool-changing system with a 5-position magazine–making it suitable for intricate milling, drilling, mortising, and engraving tasks.
The Turning Unit uses a V-form gouger cutter to machine turned parts quickly in both X-axis directions. Finally, the Sanding Unit ensures clean, smooth finishes on both flat and round surfaces.
